IF I HAD ALL THE MONIES

K well I appreciate your insight and the permission to give myself grace and lean in a little bit.  You're right, maybe everything is just OK!!!!!

I loved your little list of the things you'd do if you had all the money. It really is such a fun fantasy to swirl around in the old noggin, isn't it?

I think I have said this to you before but I think if I suddenly had a *gazillion dollars* I'd keep the general outline of my life the same, but I would just improve everything that I already have going on - does that make sense?

The number one thing I would do is outsource all of my pain points (aka, things that just drive me totally nuts and exhaust me and generally speaking, if I didn't have to do them, I would likely enjoy life a bit more). These things for me include:

  • House cleaning - In general, I don't despise cleaning, but I think in the frequency and scope it has been happening lately (we have recently moved into a much larger home) it is becoming absolutely exhausting. In my fantasy world, I would like to have a housekeeper at least 1x a week for a full clean, and someone in the mornings and evenings to handle laundry and things like bringing shit in from my car and putting it away.

  • Landscaping - would love a dedicated team to keep the outside lawn / gardens just looking so fresh and perfect 24/7!

  • Grocery shopping / cooking - I mean come on this one is just sooo obvious but wouldn't it be heaven? To have all of this just taken care of?

  • Travel liaison and private flying - I would love for someone to handle booking plane tickets (somehow I always end up doing it wrong?), arranging car services to get me to and from the airport, and the private suite service where you don't need to go into the airport, but instead get whisked into a private suite (with all of the amenities) and then taken to the plane directly by SUV, and into first class - of course!!!!

  • Handy man - now, we both know I am married to the handiest of all of the mans, but sometimes I just wish I had a sweet older guy hanging around that I could ask to do things (rather than negotiate with an often grumpy, manic husband that is overworked and under slept!!). I have some hooks in the wall that need to come out that require a ladder, some sconces to hang … and we have an ant problem!!! Leonard (that would be his name), get to it!

Ok, let's get down to the good stuff. If money was no object, and I could just get click happy and fancy free on the internet and order my desires on a whim with no consequence, these are the things that I'd buy faster than you can say add to cart. I am Leo after all, and we like nice things!!!!!

  • This oscar de la renta gown to have hanging in my closet, ready for any springtime GALA I may be invited to

  • This outdoor seating collection by ferm living is on my dream wishlist, it's so chic and would look amaaaazing on my patio

  • I haven't been able to get these gucci suede boots off my mind, so I'd swoop these up for sure

  • While I was at it, I'd also grab this loewe denim jacket that I keep texting you, and you don't respond, because you know I am instigating you for approval to purchase and you don't want to grant it to me because I am constantly complaining about how I shop too much

  • I would love to have absolutely unlimited funds to finish the interiors of my new house - it truly is such an exercise of self control to cut yourself off from buying/ordering things when you are quite literally looking at the unfinished spaces every day. A few projects top of mind for me are painting our den sardine blue by farrow and ball, commissioning bench cushions to be made in colours of arley stripes, grabbing this schoolhouse rug for under Parker's lego table, and while I am at it, this trolly for games and art supplies. Sigh!!

Lastly, and truly I am not just saying this to make myself sound gud - but if I never had to worry about money, I'd be much more generous with my giving to causes I care about, and I would be a giant tipper on all occasions.

Not sure any of this is in the cards for me, but I can certainly keep chanting abundance mantras to myself and see what happens. :)

-Britt
