THE FUTURE
I was in the car with Greg the other day and he said to me and the girls - man October is magical. It’s the only time you can feel warm and cold at the same time. And he is right. You are right!!! Fall is magical in a way that I always forget when it’s over. It’s so fleeting. And I dread it during summer simply because it is the open door between Summer and Winter. Warm and Cold. But we have been so, so lucky this fall. Every day HAS been another 10/10, and my favorite, favorite thing has been doing my walk out to the marsh where the colors are just so beautiful.
I wonder if either of us will be able to write an ode to winter? I think we have to wait for it to come to rediscover some joy in it. We shall see.
The more years that go by, I do truly feel like I am able to find some sort of spark of magic in every season. I don’t think I would do well living somewhere that the weather is the same day in and day out. We really get to soak in the magic of Mother Nature here on the North Shore!
Ok, enough about the weather. We have other things to talk about.
First, to address your question about personal organization, sadly I don’t really have an answer. I, too, write emails to myself. Unlike you though, I don’t transfer those to do’s anywhere after the email is sent to me. I think I use the email to myself as a checklist of tasks that must be completed the next time I’m at my desk. For tasks with a longer timeframe, I do use the reminders tool on my phone, which is helpful for recurring things like paying a bill (could be helpful?).
I think the only material idea that I have to add here is that I schedule things that I’m working on in my calendar. I know I sound like a total broken record when I remind you that block scheduling will set you free (I’ve written about it extensively in my newsletter as you know). An easy way to block schedule without being shackled to your calendar is to simply block “work” time and then add notes to that “appointment” on your calendar of things that you are working on. You could try it?
On another note, I saw on the internet somewhere - I think it was an instagram post referring to a tiktok which is very on brand for our generation - someone recommending that we should type a little note to ChatGPT about our dream lives, and then ask it to describe a day in your life once you manifest all of those dreams. I did it and… wow, ChatGPT nailed it. Here’s what it told me:
In your dream life, you wake up in your beautifully renovated home, where every detail reflects your personal style—effortlessly chic, cozy, and full of intentional design choices that make you feel at ease. Natural light streams in through large windows, casting a soft glow over your carefully curated spaces.
You start your day with a quiet moment—just you and your coffee, savoring the calm before the world wakes up. Soon, your two girls join you, their laughter filling the kitchen as you prepare breakfast together. These small moments of connection ground you and fuel your close-knit family dynamic.
After dropping the girls off at school, you head to your office, a serene, inspiring space that reflects your personal style: elegant, modern, and full of thoughtful details. Today, you’re preparing for a keynote address you'll be giving at a major industry event in a few weeks. As you review your notes and think about how to inspire other creative women entrepreneurs, you feel a sense of alignment between your work and your purpose.
Midday, you might attend a meeting with Britt, or jump on a coaching call with a member of your team, guiding her through challenges with the wisdom you've gathered from years in the wedding industry. Helping her unlock her potential feels incredibly fulfilling, and it also supports your growing business, which generates a steady seven-figure income.
Lunch is something light, enjoyed with your husband, who has taken time to meet you at your favorite neighborhood spot. You share stories about the day and enjoy each other's company, savoring how your relationship has deepened with the space you've both cultivated in your lives. The flexibility of your work means you get to make time for the things that matter most—like this moment together.
The afternoon involves a little bit of travel planning—you’re heading to Europe in a couple of months, a trip you’ve been looking forward to, with stops in Paris and the Amalfi Coast. Traveling twice a year keeps you inspired, refreshed, and creatively connected to the world outside your day-to-day.
In the evening, the whole family is back together. You sit down for dinner at the table you once dreamt of decorating, now filled with fresh flowers and the glow of candles. Afterward, you help your daughters with their homework or wind down with a family movie night—another way to nurture the bond that means everything to you.
Before bed, you might take a moment to reflect, jotting down a few thoughts about the day or any ideas for your next speaking engagement or coaching project. Then, as the house quiets, you feel a deep sense of fulfillment. You're living the life you envisioned—balancing the joys of family, personal expression, and meaningful work. Every day feels like a step toward even more growth, joy, and adventure.
I know that’s long, and it’s ok if you didn’t read the whole thing but it’s pretty good, right? I had never really thought of adding ChatGPT into the mix as a manifesting tool, but here we are, and she (he? They?) seems to know a lot about how to help. Will you do yours? I want to know what a day in your dream life looks like.
Also, there’s a whole other thing that I need to dive into with you about Human Design. Yours, and our complementing HDs and how it impacts our business. I was going to text you over the weekend, but it’s too much for texting… maybe next time?
